Wild Adventures Camps at the Dallas Zoo and Children's Aquarium at Fair Park are packed with Zoo tours, games, crafts, and animal encounters unique to each camp’s theme. Designed for kids in PreK through Grade 12, with weeklong and single-day options available from June through August.

The Dallas Zoo's mission is to conserve wildlife and inspiring a passion for nature. Key Exhibits include:

The Wilds of Africa – Named “Best African Exhibit in U.S.” by The Zoo Book: A Guide to America’s Best. Includes 36 developed acres including the new Giants of the Savanna, the Gorilla Trail, and a Monorail Safari through the six habitats of Africa, as well as the Don Glendenning Penguin Cove.

Giants of the Savanna – Opened May 2010, this highly acclaimed multi-species exhibit is an 11-acre habitat that is home to elephants, giraffes, zebras, ostriches, impalas, warthogs, red river hogs, and guineafowl. The exhibit also features Predator Rock featuring lions and cheetahs. The Zoo offers free-flight bird demonstrations daily with large African species, such as crowned cranes, and daily Keeper Encounter training demonstrations.

Gorilla Trail – Highlights along the one-mile trail include the award-winning Jake L. Hamon Gorilla Conservation Research Center, the A. D. Martin Sr. Forest Aviary, Crocodile Isle, the Kimberly-Clark Chimpanzee Forest, and the Okapi Forest.

Betty Moroney Norsworthy Otter Outpost – Home to families of Asian small-clawed otters. Endangered Tiger Habitat – The one-acre naturalistic exhibit for Sumatran and Malayan tigers features Southeast Asian architecture.

Herpetarium – Nationally renowned collection of reptile and amphibian species; home to Ghosts from the Bayou showcasing an albino American alligator.

Lacerte Family Children’s Zoo – Three-acre facility, featuring a variety of interactive, educational, and entertaining exhibits, including the Underzone with naked mole-rats, the Nature Exchange, a hands-on store where children trade natural artifacts, and much more. Also includes the interactive aviary known as Travis & Zach’s Birds Landing and pony rides.

Texas Cats – Rocky setting for wild cats of Texas including ocelots, bobcats, and cougars. Bug U! – Native insects of Texas have a habitat in this renovated WPA-era building.

Wings of Wonder – Birds of prey and scavengers reside in large homes with water features. Primate Place – This tree-covered pathway provides plenty of branches for many monkeys.

Koala Walkabout – Cuddly koalas curl up in tree branches at the newest Zoo exhibit.
